Silk Road Marketplace

Our namesake and symbol come from the Silk Road marketplace, which pioneered the right of humans to think and act for themselves. The marketplace was started by Ross Ulbricht in 2011 in an effort to win the War on Drugs by taking control away from the government and allowing the people to determine for themselves what they put into their own bodies.

Following this legacy, we firmly believe that all adults have the right to decide what to do with their own bodies, and thus the choice to consume cannabis, alcohol, or any other drug should rest exclusively with the individual. This philosophy is, of course, at odds with the decades-long history of propaganda that fueled an extremely costly and unjust Drug War, which resulted in hundreds of thousands of possession charges for minor offenses, packed prisons with first-time offenders who didn’t deserve to be in them, and cost the American taxpayer hundreds of billions of dollars over the years to support it all.

While we have no formal connection to the Silk Road marketplace, we are sympathetic to its mission of furthering human freedom and ending the wasteful and dangerous War on Drugs in this country. We are carrying forward the Silk Road brand as a fully-legal cannabis company that stands for the same mission, and a portion of our profits will go to Ross Ulbricht’s legal defense fund and similar causes.

It is our hope that we can help end the failed War on Drugs by furthering cannabis legalization initiatives and supporting our right as responsible adults to choose what to consume and accept the consequences of our own actions without being subject to external interference or influence from a misinformed government and an outdated drug policy that needs major overhaul.
